Simple Texture Painting For Stellar Results
Do you struggle with texture painting in Blender? Do you feel intimidated by complex shader nodes that take what feels like forever to build? Are you looking to build a texturing workflow that doesn't require a subscription? If you answered yes to any of those questions, this mini-tutorial is here for you!
In this texture painting walkthrough, I'm going to take you through my process for texturing a hero asset in Blender, using only simple node setups. No complex math operations that end up causing more confusion than anything else. I'm going to show you how I texture in Blender with a Substance Painter mindset!
This mini-tutorial is not intended for beginners. In this series, I presume you have a solid understanding of Blender's UI and core features, such as basic modeling, UV unwrapping and you have at least a basic understanding of Blender's shader editor.
The walkthrough is broken into five sections (videos). Each section builds upon the previous lesson and by the end of section five, you'll have a completed hero asset as well as a solid understanding of my Blender texturing workflow.
All of the assets I use in this tutorial series are included and include:
- A Blend file containing the exact model I'm using in the video
- All FREE textures from CC0textures.com
- Custom stencils
- A FREE HDRI from polyhaven.com
As added BONUS, you'll also receive my recently released Damage Pack brush pack which contains:
- 15 custom made damage brush alphas
- 5 custom made, seamless textures
- All brushes/images are 4k PNGs and will work in any app that reads PNG
You get the 5-part mini-tutorial, all included assets, my Damage Pack brush pack.
